FAMILY-FRIENDLY 17-MILE DRIVE TOUR

2.5 to 3 Hour Tour

Electric Bike with a 750-Watt Motor

Beginner Level

From Lover’s Point to Bird Rock in Pebble Beach, you’ll see tons of wildlife and learn some of our area’s intriguing history. For those wanting a slower-paced tour with lots of wildlife and sweeping views, this is the one for you! This bike tour launches from the Big Sur Adventure’s shop on Cannery Row and features some famous filming locations for HBO’s hit series Big Little Lies.

On this ride, we’ll take a slow pace and explore Pacific Grove’s Marine Gardens Park and the portions of 17 Mile Drive with bike lanes. It’s a level ride, about 16 miles round trip. Though we recommend the eBikes so everyone can keep the same pace, guests who are fit are welcome to choose a regular bike (riders are able to turn the power off on their eBike any time too, if they want to do a combo). Fans of Big Little Lies will recognize Lovers Point Park, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Kissing Rock. You’ll see tons of wildlife and a lot of breathing scenery as we explore this beautiful area.

The full ride is about 16 miles and lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. We will spend the first 2 miles on a level Recreational Trail shared with pedestrians. Here you get the hang of the eBikes. Then we transition Ocean View Blvd where a wide, slow road (with bike lanes most of the way) leads us through Pacific Grove’s Marine Gardens Park past Asilomar Beach onto 17-Mile Drive. For a couple more miles we stay in bike lanes in Pebble Beach (adjacent to cars in a 25 mph zone) enjoying more breathtaking views.

We turn around at Bird Rock where the bike lanes end, taking time for a restroom and snack break, while watching sea lions frolicking in the rookery.

The Perks of Going Electric

See more of the gorgeous California coast in a shorter amount of time.

Less physical effort means that you can spend your time enjoying the views, not catching your breath.

Adjust the bike’s electric assistance to fit your preferences. It’s suitable both for people who want a good workout and for those that don’t want to expend much energy.

Other Things To Keep in Mind

  • Though we have over 120 e-bikes, we request advanced notice for groups larger than 15 riders. Contact us(opens in a new tab) to make arrangements.
  • While Southern California is known for its sunny weather, our climate here up north tends to be a bit cooler. We recommend dressing warmly so that you can fully enjoy the ride!
